All of the plants listed on this page are Permaculture plants growing on the Ocala Food Forest property and are still in their early years of development. The Food Forest was started in the summer of 2020, and while many of these plants are still maturing, they are expected to come into full production in the near future. Only plants that have survived Florida’s heat, humidity, storms, and occasional freezes for more than two years are added to this list. If you live in or near Ocala, Florida (Planting Zone 9), these are some of the most reliable, proven plants to consider for your own food forest.
